Raul and I have been extra careful during the pandemic with our guest ranch business and basically, everywhere we go. We’ve made significant changes required by the health department here in Mexico to ensure the safety of both our guests and our staff.
At the ranch we took a big hit since the borders were closed since last March until, what is the new date now? August 21st?
I’m a U.S citizen and have no problem going back and forth but many of my family members who are Mexican can’t cross yet until the borders are re-opened again. Unfortunately they have business to attend to in the U.S. but in all reality, this will have to wait.
We receive groups from Europe and the United States who come frequently to our ranch. A flight to San Diego, or a quick 50 mile drive to the ranch, it’s a piece of cake.
Now with the borders closed and SOMEBODY declaring Mexico unsafe, our visitors have declined and sadly so. Many believe they will be thrown into quarantine upon returning to the U.S. and this is not the case. Others may believe the media and if the media says all of Mexico is at level 4, then there’s no way to tell them different.
We have had a few groups after taking a loss of 16 in total this past Spring. They had no problem crossing back into the U.S. They were not thrown into quarantine and they had a great time! We Re-opened in June. Just so you know!
We’re in trying times right now and Raul and I understand this and we believe the best place you can be is in the outdoors. This is why we continue to travel. Short trips of course and we steer clear of large crowds but it’s also a way to breathe some fresh air, relieve anxiety, stress and for God’s sake, to get away from the news!
Soon we’re going to hit the road again. I’m looking forward to spending time with Raul. Hopefully he feels the same way😳 and it will be a nice change of scenery for both of us.
If you have a chance to get away for a while go for it. It’s amazing how the outdoors replenishes the soul and Minimizes worries and strife.
Have a great week and let us hear about your travels once in a while or pop in to say hello. We’d love to hear from you!
